Several weeks ago Merritt Township officially celebrated the grand opening of their new community playground! Families were lined up for the ribbon cutting anxiously waiting to play. Planning for this playground started over two years ago. It was made possible in part by the community, Tanya Moore at the Spicer Group and equipment by Superior Play.
This new playground is modified to fit the needs of all age groups. The playground has a play area for children ages 2-5, an area for kids 5-12, and several stand alone climbers, swings and spinners. The park also features wheelchair accessible poured in place rubber trails throughout, making every part of the park enjoyable for all children. To complete the park a pavilion was added and the township was even able to reuse some bobble riders! Merritt township playground is open to the community located at 48 E. Munger Rd., Munger MI, just behind the Merritt Township Hall.
